How and what to pack for a Safari

Travelling to Africa on safari is an exciting adventure but one of the most frequently asked questions revolves around what and how to pack.

With strict weight restrictions on internal flights between camps, packing can sometimes present a bit of a challenge.

I thought I'd share the gear and methodology behind my packing for safari.

Remember that the details of both the weight allowance and acceptable bag types will vary by destination and by safari so be sure to double check these details before your safari!

Any questions, just shout, I'd be only too happy to assist.

Hi Andrew. I’ve purchased a very light medium sized soft baggage with wheels to make travel easier. Hope that’s acceptable.

      Hi Howard

That should be fine, its the fixed rigid structures that cause the most hassles and, personally, I have found most countries with the exception of Namibia to be fairly accommodating as long as there is no rigid structure.
