Private Congo Basin Exploration

On arrival in Brazzaville, you will be collected from the airport and transferred to the Radisson for the evening.

Enjoy an early breakfast before your transfer back to the airport to connect onto your charter flight to Mboko. You will then have a Scenic Game drive to Ngaga Camp, where you will enjoy a talk with the gorilla research Team as you prepare for your first of 3 morning Gorilla tracking experiences.

These are two full days spent at Ngaga Camp. The highlight of these two days will be the gorilla trekking experiences, one trek per day in the morning. In addition to these treks the forest is alive with wildlife & birds, so there is never a dull moment as you explore the surrounds and we will enjoy afternoon and even night forest walks.

After breakfast in camp we will transfer by road from Ngaga camp to Mboko Camp arriving in time for lunch. After enjoying lunch, we will leave again & kayak and walk into Lango Camp, a great way to arrive at your new destination.

This is a full day spent at Lango Camp. The activities will be varied. There will be opportunity to explore the region by vehicle, on foot and by boat. The incredibly beauty of the Congo forest will have you jaw dropped at every moment. The deep greens & lush forests are the perfect setting for incredible photographic opportunity. Spend the days searching for wildlife in the expert company of your local guide as well as your Wild Eye guide. Enjoy many different mammal species seldom seen elsewhere and view birds uniquely adapted for forest life. These 3 days at Lango Camp will give you a deeper appreciation for what happens in the heart of Africa.

After full morning exploring the Lango Bai we will enjoy breakfast before transferring to Mboko Camp. Our afternoon will be spent cruising along the Lekoli River by boat in search of forest elephant and buffalo.

The Lekoli River in the Lango region offers one of the best chances to observe the wildlife of the forest since visibility here is greater than within the canopy. We make use of motorised aluminium boats and traditional pirogues to travel against the river currents whilst the most rewarding time is spent drifting silently downstream searching the beautiful forested banks for
Forest Elephant, Forest Buffalo, primate species like Putty-nosed Monkey and de Brazza’s Monkey and birds.

Although Hippo do occur, their numbers are low and they are seldom seen. Bongo antelope are an exciting possible sighting. Crocodiles are represented by two harmless species, the Slender-snouted Crocodile and the African Dwarf Crocodile. Chimpanzees are regular
in this area although more often heard than seen.

After breakfast we will board a flight from Lango Camp to Brazzaville (depart at 09:00 and land at 11:00. Lunch at Wata Mami (lunch is excluded) From here we will transfer to Maya Maya for
the return flight home, signalling the end of this incredible adventure. An additional night may be needed in Brazzaville depending on your return international flight details.
