Day 1
Arrival in Kilimanjaro
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be transferred to Kia Lodge, which is a very convenient 4 minute drive from the airport. Depending on your time of arrival you can decide to relax next to the swimming pool, or enjoy an early dinner at the restaurant.
Day 2
Flight from Kilimanjaro to Northern Serengeti
At a time to be advised, we will transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for our internal flight into northern Serengeti.
Upon arrival we will be met by our local guide on the ground, and depending on animal activity we might head out to capture some of the action or transfer to our camp and settle in before our afternoon activity.
Day 3-7
Northern Serengeti
Our mornings will start off shortly before sunrise, as we head out to explore the Northern Serengeti. One of our main focusses during our time would be to capture the dramatic river crossings. Millions of Wildebeest and Zebras cross the rivers as they seek greener pastures for grazing.
With these massive herds moving through the Serengeti plains, they naturally attract an abundance of predators, many of which will look for young or injured individuals. A big part of our daily routine will revolve around the movement of these predators. We have the freedom of taking a packed breakfast and lunch with us which allows us to spend the entire day out in the field photographing wildlife.
We would return back to camp shortly after sunset as per park regulations and absorb the magnificent night skies found in these parts of the world.
Day 8
Internal flight and transfer to the Masai Mara
Depending on the time of our flight into Tarime from Kokotende. Upon arrival at Tarime we will then transfer by road to Migori where we will clear customs on the Tanzanian side, before boarding our chartered flight into the Masai Mara.
Upon arrival in the Masai Mara we will be greeted to our local guide who will give us an update on the movement of the herds and other activities in the area. Depending on what activities there have been in the area, we might head straight on safari, or make our way to camp and settle in before our afternoon activity.
Day 9-13
Masai Mara
Our days will start shortly before sunrise as we try and maximise our game viewing opportunities.
One of our main focus points during our time in the Masai Mara will be to capture the dramatic river crossings. We will scan the river as we leave camp to get an idea on the movements of the herds. If the herds are close to the river we will invest our time with them, otherwise we will shift our focus towards the predators and return to the river in the afternoon.
The presence of the herds attract a variety of predators, all of whom will look for weak or injured individuals. Our time out in the field will often be determined by the movement of these herds and the predators. We have the luxury of taking packed breakfast and lunches with us to maximise our time out in the field.
We would need to return to camp shortly after sunset as per park rules, where we would be welcomed back with a campfire burning, allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy the night sounds.
Day 14
Internal flight to Nairobi and transfer to JKI Airport
We will have the opportunity of a last morning safari to pack in as much as we possibly can.
At a time to be advised, we will make our way to the airstrip in the Masai Mara for our scheduled flight back to Nairobi.
At Wilson airport we will be met and transferred to JKI airport for our International flights. If the international flights are late in the evening, we will arrange a day room at the Crowne Plaza.
