Private Okavango Delta Experience

Once we arrive in Maun we will be met by a Wilderness Safaris representative and escorted to the domestic terminal for our chartered flight into Chitabe.

Upon arrival at Chitabe we will be transferred to our camp, where we can settle in before our afternoon activity.

Game viewing is phenomenal in the Chitabe concession and we will ensure one of our main focusses will be to spend as much time as possible with wildlife. After a short night drive we will return to camp where we will be met by the friendly staff at Chitabe, before enjoying a drink around a campfire followed by dinner.

Our mornings will start off bright and early as we aim to maximise our game viewing opportunities during times when wildlife, and especially predators are most active.

Chitabe Camp is situated in a private concession area on an island in the south-east of the Okavango Delta. Playing host to a breathtaking mosaic of wooded, wetland and grassland habitats, the area is famed for its incredible numbers and diversity of wildlife, in particular predators. Our focus will be to try and spend as much time as possible with wildlife, in turn maximising our photographic opportunities.

Depending on animal movements we might return to camp for lunch and depart again later in the afternoon, or we might enjoy a full day out on safari.

We have the opportunity of enjoying night drives, which are usually conducted as an extension of the afternoon safari, returning just before dinner.

After a morning safari at Chitabe, we will depart on a scheduled flight into Vumbura.

We will be met by our local guide and transferred to Vumbura plains which will be our home for the next 4 nights. After settling in, we will depart on our afternoon safari as we explore the floodplains of Vumbura.

Our days will start shortly before sunrise as we try and maximise our game viewing opportunities.

Luxurious Vumbura Plains lies in an area that is a mix of water and dry land. The wildlife is diverse, so that both land and water activities on vehicles, mekoro and boats deliver an all-round African safari experience.
Our times in the field with largely be determined by animal movement and activity. We also have the opportunity to explore the waterways of the Okavango Delta which consists of crystal clear waters and incredible birdlife.

Our activities in the afternoons will run into the night as we look for some of the nocturnal species, not easily found during the day before returning to camp for dinner and drink around the campfire.

On one of the mornings we will take to the sky and enjoy a doors-off scenic helicopter flight as we gain a new found appreciation of the delta eco-system from the air.

We will have the opportunity of a last morning safari to pack in as much as we possibly can.

At a time to be advised, we will make our way to the airstrip in time for our scheduled flight to Chobe airstrip in the Linyanti concession.

We will be met by our local guide and advised on whether we should make our way to camp to settle in, or head straight out on safari.

Situated along the famous Osprey lagoon, it is hard to think of a better location to have a camp at. During the dry season large herds of Elephants and general game make their way towards the lagoons, often swimming across to get to lush green vegetation.

The Linyanti concession also has a very healthy population of African Wild dogs which will most certainly be one of our focus points, along with the other amazing predator and general game viewing this concession has to offer.

The Savute Channel has attracted many wildlife photographers and filmmakers from around the world and for good reason, as an incredible sighting never seems far away when you patrol this waterway.

We will have the luxury of night drives to look for some of the rare nocturnal species as well as spend time with predators active at night.

In the evenings we will be welcomed back by the friendly Duma Tau staff. Whether you enjoy the amazing views the upper bar deck, or enjoy a drink on the famous floating fire place, your stay at Duma Tau will be an unforgettable one.

After one last morning safari we will board our scheduled flight to Maun.

After arriving in Maun we will once again be greeted by a Wilderness Safaris representative and escorted to international departures for our flights back home.
