Wolwedans Hot Air Balloon Experience

Meet and greet at Kerweder airstrip by your Wolwedans guide, followed by a 45-60 minutes scenic drive to camp as you get your first glimpse of this breathtaking landscape.

Arrive at camp in time for lunch.
In the afternoon enjoy a short drive with an evening sundowner as you bid farewell to your first day in the desert.

Fuelled by hearty fare and invigorating conversation, embark on a journey into the heart of the desert alongside your seasoned Bushman tracker—an expert in the ways of the land and its inhabitants.
As you traverse the undulating dunes, your guide becomes your interpreter, unveiling the hidden narratives written upon the sands.

As your desert walk concludes, you arrive at Wolwedans Village, the heart of operations and sustainability in this remote desert oasis.

In the afternoon, embark on an exhilarating adventure with an E-Bike Dune Riding experience. Mount a robust 'fat' E-bike and journey along meandering paths that traverse the reserve, effortlessly gliding over hills, sand dunes, and expansive plains.

As the sun gently illuminates your tent, awakening you to a new day, prepare for an unforgettable adventure starting with breakfast at camp. Today, immerse yourself in the quintessential Wolwedans experience: the Full Day Scenic Drive. Venture into the southern reaches of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, where a tapestry of diverse landscapes awaits.

Gain a deeper appreciation for the forces of nature that have sculpted this awe-inspiring landscape into the masterpiece it is today. As the day unfolds, every twist and turn of the journey unveils new wonders to behold, each more enchanting than the last.

Packed picnic lunch can be enjoyed the the ‘Hard Rock Café’. This location is the perfect stop as lunch is served in the deep shade of granite rocks with views across the open desert plains.

Depart Wolwedans early in the morning for either a short 1-hour (Kwessi launch site) or a 2-hour (Geluk launch site) drive to the Namib Sky hot air ballooning launch point (launch site depends on wind conditions). The balloon flight ends with a champagne brunch in the desert.

In the afternoon, saddle up for a memorable horse riding experience. Whether you prefer a thrilling gallop or a leisurely stroll, riders of all levels are welcome to join. To cap off the ride, you have the option to enjoy sundowners on the dunes, adding a touch of enchantment to your equestrian adventure.

Once the sun has set and the night sky comes to life, join us for an ‘Antares’ – a naked eye star safari. The NamibRand is one of a handful of International Dark Sky Reserves in the world, and the only one on the African continent.

Late lunch can be enjoyed either in camp or at Wolwedans Village. Once you have checked out, 30 minutes road transfer to the Kerweder airstrip for your flight.
