Wild Eye Webinars – August and September 2020

At Wild Eye our goal is to change the way you see the world.  This is something we do both in the field when we host expeditions and safaris around the world but also online where we continually try to bring value to our guests, followers and community.

Even though the world is changing every day and we are slowly returning to a new normal, we remain committed to bringing you value and entertainment through our online presence, social media and the webinars that we started hosting when the world shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While we continue to plan new travel itineraries and assist our clients with changing their travel plans, we have decided that we will continue to host and present both our free 45 minute webinars as well as premium 2 hour webinars through which we will share our passion, knowledge and experience.

Below you will find all our upcoming webinars for August and September 2020 and, as you will see, the range of topics is wonderfully diverse and you will no doubt find some real value and inspiration for your own photography and travel plans.

Let Johan & Michael Review Your Wildlife Images

Have you been hoping to improve your photography editing techniques? There are many ways in which one can improve these skills in order to achieve desired results, one being, putting in the time! Another impactful way is to offer your work up to receive some constructive criticism from individuals that have a wealth of knowledge in this field.

Following on from a series that we hosted last year, we would like bring the series back with some live interaction and Q&A.

During this webinar, Johan van Zyl and Michael Laubscher will co-host this episode and make use of images that have been sent through by you. They will review your processed image/s and then work through the different steps of enhancing the look and feel of your image even more.

There is an impressive seventeen years of photography experience and knowledge between the two of them. By being accepting of their criticism on your own work as well as the work from others who join, can only help you improve your post processing skills moving forward.

Once your images have been received, they will be imported into a lightroom folder and during the webinar Johan & Michael will review and discuss critical points of your image/s with you & provide you with some techniques to remember in order to enhance your images a bit more.

This webinar includes a Lightroom presentation during which attendees who submit images will have the images reviewed by Mike and Johan with the aim of helping you improve both your photography and post processing.

From Sighting to Camera to Lightroom

Understanding Light

The word photography actually stems from Greek roots that mean "writing with light." In order to truly take control over your photography, you have to understand light and how it works.

Light is a photograph's key ingredient and is literally the only reason an image can exist. Without light, creating a photograph will be an impossible task, even the most expensive camera is worthless inside a completely dark room.  Now with this one element being the most important ingredient, it should be of every photographers interest to develop a deeper understanding of light.  How it works and how to capture it, control it, enhance it, and use it creatively.

Mastering light and using it to your advantage will result in you creating impactful images. The more you know, the easier it will be when it comes to your planning when out in the flied.

Michael will discuss and showcase these important aspects of light;

- How your camera creates an image
- The DSLR technicalities you need to understand to take advantage of the light.
