Best Of Kenya
Mike was my guide on my first Kenyan – and Wild Eye – adventure for the Big Cats & Tuskers trip. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Mike was during our time on safari – and before! I encountered many delays coming into the Kenya. While delayed in airports in Europe, Mike – and the Wild Eye team in Johannesburg – stayed in constant contact with me to stay updated on my arrival time and to adjust on-the-ground arrangements. When I finally made it to Kenya, I just missed the flight from Nairobi to Amboseli. I connected with Mike by phone upon landing in Nairobi and he was so kind, gracious, and understanding of my late arrival.

Best of Mana Pools
Our Wild Eye Guide Johan Van Zyl was fantastic. He advised us about our camera settings to get the maximum from our photos while at the same time not encroaching on our personal creativity. We had time during the day when Johan helped us process our photos with Lightroom.

Best of Serengeti
“I LOVE Johan!!! He’s a down to earth guy which I really like, no airs and graces and will do anything to help, always cheerful, and always professional!”

A Day with a Pangolin
It is incredibly difficult to try and decide which one of my images I liked the most. I am not even sure if it’s one I love the most because it was artistically appealing, because it captured a rare moment or it was the joy of the challenge in trying to get it. I had [...]

My Favourite Image Of 2020
The various knock on effects of 2020 have been real. I thought choosing my favourite image of 2020 would be an easy task. Tell me another joke. I was lucky enough to host three tours this year before the world wide lock down set in. Two of which were new destinations for me namely; Iceland [...]

My Favourite Image of 2020
A large dose of luck and a lot of patience came together one evening at Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. The story begins earlier in the morning when we found a male leopard that had killed a kudu. He had eaten a fair amount of the kill - sharing willingly with a couple of hyaenas [...]

What Trip I Am Looking Forward To Most In 2021
Probably one of the most difficult question thrown at me last year. What Trip I Am Looking Forward To Most In 2021... May I keep this very short and say all of them? Honestly, I cannot wait to travel anywhere to be quite frank. Amongst all the exciting safaris I'll be hosting next year, one [...]

My Favourite Moment from 2020
Believe it or not I was fortunate enough to have hosted two Safaris before the world as we knew it changed and the Pandemic triggered worldwide travel restrictions. It was on one of these safaris that I identified my favourite moment. Here it is. Here, in the wild and remote reaches of the Republic of [...]
