Safari drives at Londolozi are taken by professional, passionate, and knowledgeable rangers and trackers, who have 350 years of experience between them. With over 16,000 hectares of traversing wilderness, no two game drives are ever the same.
In today’s safari practice, rifles have been replaced with cameras, and the only shooting done is to photograph the majesty of animals, birds, and trees. Londolozi’s rangers specialize in photographic safaris and, where possible, will position the vehicle for guests to get the best angle for photography. They will also share advice and knowledge where they can so you can capture the moment in all its glory.

TRAIN OVERVIEW
Each train has accommodation carriages, dining cars (±42 seats), a lounge car (±26 seats), small gift shop, smoking lounge (±11 seats), and observation car (±32 seats) with an open-air balcony. Maintaining the spirit of a bygone era, there are no radios or television sets on board. The three types of suites available – Pullman (7 m2), Deluxe (10 m2), and Royal (16 m2) – offer passengers privacy and comfort with double or twin beds and fittings and facilities that are of the highest standard.
All travellers are welcome – singles, couples, and groups. The dining cars are made up of two-seaters and four-seaters where guests eat together or individually. The lounge and observation cars – with their big picture windows, sofas, and booths – make for great mingling areas or quiet corners to while away the days.

Little Vumbura

Little Vumbura is situated on a beautiful island in a private concession in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta. Surrounded as it is by water and lying close to large rivers, both water and land based activities are as central to the overall experience, with both offering spectacular and diverse wildlife sightings.
Little Vumbura is a beautiful six-roomed tented camp shaded by the canopy of an ancient forest. Each well-appointed tent has en-suite facilities and a deck with incredible vistas. A plunge pool and reading area overlook the floodplains while a star deck is reached by a bridge from the dining area.

Morning and afternoon game drives allow you to get close to animals in the savannah areas where lion, leopard, elephant, sable and buffalo along with extensive plains game roam. The open 4x4 Land Rovers each accommodate a maximum of seven people allowing each guest a ‘window’ seat for the best wildlife viewing. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals you wouldn’t see during the day. Porcupine, aardwolf, serval, large spotted genet and lesser bushbaby are just some of these.
There is no better way of viewing the Delta and its wildlife than by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe), often revealing the smaller critters of the Okavango Delta and fascinating waterbirds of the region.
