INCREDIBLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCES
Nestled between the iconic Table Mountain and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town is a city that offers a little bit of everything-and then some! Whether you are an adrenaline junkie, a foodie, a culture lover or just looking to soak in breathtaking views, the Mother City has something for you. In this blog we will explore some top activities that make Cape Town a must visit destination. From swimming with sharks and sipping on some of the best wines in the word to hiking in some of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world.Â

TABLE MOUNTAIN

The best views of Cape Town is from the top of the famous Table Mountain. If and when you ever find yourself in Cape Town this is a must see. There are two ways of getting to the top of Table Mountain. Firstly you could use the Cableway. This is the most popular way of getting up there as the cable car has a floor that rotates that ensures all passengers get to see the breathtaking views from the cable car. This is only about a 5 minute journey one way.Â
The other more adventurous way to get up there is to do a 3 and a half hour hike to the summit. There are various routes that you can take with various difficulties. Just always be sure to check the weather as if it is a cloudy day often the top of the mountain will be covered in clouds and there might not be much of a view.Â
WHALE WATCHING

Only about a 2 hours drive from Cape Town CBD you will find the beautiful Hermanus. Hermanus is a small coastal town world renown for whale watching (in season). During the months between June-November the Southern Right Whales visit the Cape Town waters to give birth to their calves. This amazing as this means they stick around for quite a long time and this cn actually give you the opportunity to view them up close from a boat.Â
After you enjoyed the whales, your tour should include a lunch in the town of Hermanus. If you are a seafood lover then you would really enjoy the freshness of the seafood in Hermanus.Â
CAGE DIVING

What promises to be an unforgettable shark cage diving adventure with expert guides and researchers near Dyer Island. Starting at the Great White House in Kleinbaai, guests enjoy a meal, suit fitting, and a safety and educational briefing on great white sharks. A short 200m walk leads to the Slashfin, a custom-built, luxury vessel accommodating up to 40 passengers. The 20–25-minute boat ride is thrilling in itself, followed by up to two hours of anchored viewing or diving, depending on shark activity. Guests can choose to cage dive or observe from the deck. Learn how to identify individual sharks and distinguish males from females. If conditions allow, enjoy a scenic detour through Shark Alley. The tour ends with a warm debriefing and soup back on land.
VISIT THE PENGUINS AT BOULDERS BEACH

Boulders Beach is home to an endangered African penguin colony in Simon's Town, South Africa, where visitors can view them from raised boardwalks. These penguins, once called Jackass penguins for their donkey-like calls, nest in burrows and bushes and are threatened by habitat loss, climate change, and overfishing. Even though these birds are super cute and mostly habituated to human presence, this doesn't mean they are not wild free roaming penguins. They have sharp beaks and can cause harm to humans so please never try and touch or feed these magical birds.Â
WINE TRAM

The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley - picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Passengers will experience a unique and leisurely introduction to the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in either an open-sided single-decker tram or a double-decker tram as well as an open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus transport follows a loop of stops allowing guests to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, such as wine tastings, cellar tours, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards.
KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDENS

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain.Kirstenbosch boasts with more than 7000 plant and tree species and also has some of the most beautiful endemic flowers. It is also a birders paradise and people have even seen Caracal (a rare small wild cat) in Kirstenbosch. There are multiple walkways to meander on and the most famous of these would be the Boomslang tree canopy walkway. There is also a restaurant for you to enjoy. This is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Cape Town really has something for every person to enjoy. Apart from the amazing activities that you can do in Cape Town the local people are also very friendly and willing to help with anything. Cape Town is also very well connected in terms of a very big International Airport but also for the fact that you can very easily combine visiting Cape Town and the Kruger National Park in one trip as there is a direct flight from Cape Town to Kruger. I hope this blog gave you some idea of what to do in Cape Town apart from just taking in the breathtaking views. Until next time.Â

I find purpose in educating people about wildlife and the most iconic wildlife destinations, as this contributes to conservation. Creating memories, chasing sunsets and building lasting relationships with like minded people is what fulfils me.
