MALA MALA
Considered by many as the pioneers to the safari industry in South Africa, Mala Mala has been in existence since 1927. Â Being one of the largest private Big 5 game reserves in South Africa, this beautiful property offers some of the most incredible game viewing you could ask for on any safari in Africa.


MALA MALA LOCATION
Being in the right location is one of the most important factors when going on any safari and the location doesn't get much better than Mala Mala. Â Sharing a 19km unfenced boundary with the world famous Kruger National Park and also having 20 kilometres of river frontage running through the reserve, Mala Mala is an absolute haven for wildlife, especially predators. Â Mala Mala has no traversing in 70% of the property which means that you can enjoy exclusivity during your safari drives with no time limit in sightings, a real luxury for wildlife photographers and enthusiasts.

GETTING TO MALA MALA
- By Air: Â There are daily flights with Airlink from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Skukuza. Â From Skukuza it is about an hour's transfer to Mala Mala. Â There are also Airlink flights from Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban to Kruger Mpumalanga airport. Â From Kruger Mpumalanga airport a transfer of around two and a half hour hours can be arranged at an additional cost. Â CemAir and Federal air offer chartered flights from Johannesburg into Mala Mala's very own airstrip.
-  By Road: MalaMala Game Reserve is a 6 hour drive from Johannesburg. Access to MalaMala is via the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve utilising Shaw’s Gate. It is essential to contact the camp to receive up to date details regarding the best route to travel through to the reserve.

- Morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles led by highly qualified field guides. Â The morning game drives will have a break where coffee and biscuit will be enjoyed, where in the afternoons you can enjoy a beverage of your choice as well as some delicious finger snacks prepared by the chefs. Â The afternoon game drives will carry on into the night, with a night drive giving you the opportunity to spot some nocturnal species.
- Walking safaris can be arranged upon request as is the perfect way to get an understanding of the smaller species that play a vital role in the ecosystem as well as learning about the tracks and signs of the animals that roam in this area.
