Experience the Mana Pools & Kanga Camp Photo Safari, a dedicated wildlife photography adventure that captures the diversity of Zimbabwe’s iconic Mana Pools floodplain and the inland water source at Kanga Camp. During the dry season, elephants are known to stand on their hind legs to reach the winterthorn canopies, creating incredible photographic moments. This safari offers a unique opportunity to photograph a wide variety of wildlife as they gather around the only available water at Kanga Pan.

YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1
Upon arrival in Harare we will be met by our safari logistics pilot for our scheduled flight into Mana Pools (flight time to Mana Pools is roughly an hour and a half). Upon arrival in Mana Pools we will be met by our guide and transferred to Zambezi Expeditions camp. Here we will have time to settle in at camp followed by a brief orientation before heading out on our first afternoon activity. We will return to camp shortly after sunset and enjoy some time around a fire reflecting on our first day on safari.DAY 2
Our days will start off bright and early with a cup of coffee around the fire on the banks of the Zambezi river, before heading out on game drive. Our focus for the morning will largely depend on the movements of the animals, although we are always on the lookout for Elephant bulls during the golden light in the Albida forest, or better yet, spending time with African Wild Dogs if they are in the area. We will leave camp in an open safari vehicle with the intention of approaching animals on foot when we find a suitable subject to photograph. Between the morning and afternoon activities there will be time to improve your lightroom skills with your Wild Eye host, or you can soak up the spectacular view from Camp. Our plans for the afternoon will largely depend on what happened in the morning.DAY 6-7
After 5 nights on the floodplain at Zambezi Expeditions, we will transfer by road to Kanga Camp which is further inland. Kanga Pan is the sole source of water in the dry season, making this an absolute haven for wildlife. This diverse area has multiple vlei lines and mixed woodland types from Mopane woodland to Jesse bush and riverine forests. With the waterhole being such an attraction, the majority of the time will be spent enjoying “armchair” safaris from the comfort of the couches overlooking Kanga pan, or the lower level hide affording close up front row seats of the action.Day 8
Day nine will see us enjoying our last morning activities on safari. After breakfast we will make our way to the airstrip and board our scheduled return flight to Harare. Arrival in Harare will signal the end of this magnificent adventure.
