I dedicated 9 years of my life to gaining a deeper understating of the natural world through a combination of guiding and studying Environment, Ecology and Conservation. My studies culminated with me receiving my MSc. from the University of the Witwatersrand. Rather than pursuing a career in academia I adopted a more hands-on approach to educating and engaging people on the natural world using photography as a means to an end.
As one of the founding members of Wild Eye I have loved watching our team of like minded and passionate individuals grow from strength to strength over the last 8 years. During this time, I have had the privilege of creating and sharing memorable experiences in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, The Republic of the Congo and even Svalbard & Jan Mayen.
Whilst there is no wild landscape or experience that doesn’t pique my interest, I am forever in pursuit of the most authentic and raw wildlife experiences in the world. I feel that I was born 100 years too late and yearn to experience the Africa of old. This often sees me exploring some of the more remote and less populated corners of the globe with my guests.
Regardless of the destination or photographic ability of my guests, I believe that my unique background and experience in conservation and field guiding provides a wealth of information extending beyond just that of photography, adding to each and every one of the tours and expeditions that I lead.
