TRIP REPORT: TREASURES OF LOWER ZAMBEZI
New favourite safari destination unlocked ✅
Having hosted my first trip to Zambia & specifically The Lower Zambezi National Park, I can confidently say that this destination has become a highlight of my guiding career.
In June 2024 I had the privilege of hosting our treasure of The Lower Zambezi for 9 days with a group of 2 guests and in this trip report I am going to share some of the highlight sightings we had as well as some photos with you that showcase the beauty of this special place.
With an incredibly high density of animals mainly gathering within range of the water sources near the Zambezi river itself, there is usually a lot of activity in these areas and it allows you to take your time and soak in all of your sightings which is important when out on Safari.
Something that I was pleasantly surprised about is the low number of vehicles in the park and when it came to high profile sightings, we were often 1 of maybe 3 vehicles and this allowed us to take our time in the sightings and photographically - what more could you ask for!
The two camps that we stayed at, Kutali Camp & Chula Island Camp of Classic Zambia were both perfectly situated on the banks of The Zambezi River which meant from the first moment of our drive we were in the core game driving area often having some amazing sightings during the first & last light of the day.
So what is it about The Lower Zambezi that is so special?
Honestly... It's really hard to put your finger on one specific thing and this is something that my guests and I were constantly speaking about. Between the mighty Zambezi river, the unreal winter-thorn forests, the quality game viewing in the area or the "treasures" this place has to offer, we certainly all left this safari destination with a special place in our heart for our time spent here.
Check out my video below (FROM THE BANKS OF THE ZAMBEZI RIVER) where I talk you through our week and share some footage from our very productive safari.
As you can see, we had some unbelievable moments while we were out on safari and I hope you enjoyed the updates.Â
Thank you for your time and have a brilliant day wherever you may be!

The idea of exploring remote and untouched areas along with guests who are hungry to learn, truly excites me. I strive to share my passion with guests and expose them to a level of appreciation for the big moments, small moments and everything in between.
