ROUND PIC NEW - GUIDE BIO - DANIEL

Most of our holidays were spent in The Kruger National Park. Desperate to keep me quiet, content and interested on the long game drives, my dad gifted me my first camera. I was only 11 years old, but I knew immediately that I had found something that I love.

Working in the bush has developed me into a passionate guide and photographer deeply committed to capture the beauty of the great outdoors through my lens. I’m always on the lookout for the perfect shot and eager to share the wonders of nature with others.

Memorable encounter

A wildlife encounter that I will never forget, happened when I was still in my training days. A massive Elephant bull came up to our safari vehicle and locked eyes with me. More or less a meter away from the vehicle, he slowly lifted his trunk towards me and stopped inches away from where I’m sitting. You could hear a pin drop at that moment. After a quick sniff, he stared at me for a moment, casually turned around and walked off. A big sigh of relief filled the vehicle as he disappeared into the bush. This is when I realised Elephants are misunderstood by so many, and they really are just gentle giants.
