Borneo Expedition with Gerry – A Journey I’ll Never Forget My trip to Borneo, led by Gerry as the expedition leader, was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, it was the kind of experience that leaves a mark on your soul. Gerry’s deep knowledge of the region, his passion for the wild, and his ability to connect people with nature elevated the entire journey. He didn’t just guide us—he brought Borneo to life. The landscapes were jaw-dropping, from misty rainforests to winding rivers, but the real highlight was the wildlife. We saw hornbills, one elephant (but it wasn't for want of trying), sun bears, and so much more—but the orangutans stole the show. Watching these critically endangered primates in the wild was humbling. There’s something profoundly moving about seeing them move through the trees, raise their young, and live their lives as they’ve done for thousands of years. Thanks to Gerry’s leadership, we weren’t just passive observers—we experienced Borneo. Every day was a new adventure, and every moment was packed with meaning. If you're after a trip that combines raw nature, world-class wildlife, and a guide who genuinely cares, this is it.

Being a wild eye guest means being welcomed into their "home", a place where hospitality, photography and travel meet. Their guides are totally focused on the guest experience as they educate on conservation, help with camera settings and framing of photos, and watch for any guest needs. Traveling with Wild Eye is such a pleasure. The logistics are taken care of seamlessly, the photography opportunities and guidance are excellent, and the accommodations and experiences are delightful.

This was my first experience with Wildeye. Expectations were high and the trip did not disappoint in any way. It was one of the most special travel experiences I have ever enjoyed. It combined seeing new (spectacular) places and meeting terrific people with the opportunity to learn new photographic skills and challenge myself.

My adventure into India with Wild Eye was Incredible. Every part of the journey was well organised - the transport punctual and comfortable, the accommodation spacious and adequate, staff always friendly, attentive and mindful of our needs, and the food served was delicious. The Naturalists at all the Lodges shared their knowledge and gave their everything to find the sightings. Johan and Michael, my hosts were patience and understanding - sharing their expertise of the camera

A truly magical week in the Northern Serengeti. So many special sightings, largely to ourselves - such a treat! Andrew Beck is an excellent photographic guide and overall host. Loved the small group size (only 2 other guests) - makes for personalised experience, catered to your needs. Highly recommend Wild Eye SA for wildlife lovers and budding photographers.

I am so glad I had this opportunity and am always impressed by the Wild Eye team. Not only is their operation a well-oiled machine at all times, but their creativity in developing new trips that take advantage of the diversity available in safaris is admirable. Not content with recreating safaris you could find anywhere, they strive to show their guests more of Africa and to show it to them more profoundly

My trip with Wild Eye was to South Africa - Sabi Sabi and MalaMala game reserves. They know when to go and where to go to increase your chances of having fabulous wildlife encounters. Our Wild Eye guide gave us ideas on camera settings but also encouraged us to try new things which for me was night photography and high-key imaging.

Wild Eye surely delivered on this trip. I have been on two trips with them- Brazil and South Africa. This trip was a safari but in a different climate. There are truly no words to describe the unforgettable experience I had in northern Norway. Aside from the incredible landscape and animal encounters, the knowledge of my photography experts and expedition leaders was beyond perfection. I saw so much; I learned so much. I appreciate every minute spent aboard the MS Stockholm.

This trip just reaffirmed what sets Wild Eye apart from other guided expedition trip. The logistics are seamless, the destination carefully chosen and the guides highly skilled and eager to do their best to enhance your photographic skills.
