For many people around the world the Great Migration epitomizes the ultimate African safari experience and is still one of the quintessential bucket list items that any wildlife and nature enthusiast should tick off their list at least once. Wildlife photographers also know that the Migration offers incredible photographic opportunities and many portfolios and award-winning images have been captured during the annual journey of more than 1.5 million wildebeest and roughly 500,000 zebra through the Mara Serengeti ecosystem.

Searching for tigers in India

India is a land of mystique, a land filled with natural wonder, ancient customs, fascinating history and yes, tigers. To see a tiger in the wild for the very first time, is something you’ll never forget. It’s better than you can imagine. Finding words to describe that feeling is hard, it takes your breath away. Bandhavgarh, Pench & Kanha National Parks are all located in close proximity to one another in central India and offers a diverse & exciting safari experience.

During the late dry season, the surface water is restricted to the last few large remaining water bodies. During the heat of the day Tigers are drawn to these water holes and this is where you stand the very best chance of seeing them. As the tigers prey also need water on a daily basis, the odds of finding tigers on the hunt around the remaining waterholes are very good.

Halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole lies Svalbard – one the world’s most spectacular wilderness and wildlife areas. For this incredible polar expedition, we will be using the M/S Stockholm, a small expedition ship built specifically for Arctic waters.

A smaller ship like this offers you an entirely different experience than the one you will get on a larger, more conventional cruise ship. Nimble and flexible, they allow us to make regular landfalls with sturdy Zodiacs and explore the polar wilderness and its spectacular wildlife. From polar bears and walruses to arctic foxes and innumerable flocks of birds, this expedition promises not only unbelievable photo opportunities but memories that will last you a lifetime.

The Big 5 of the Sabi Sands

There are very few destinations that nearly guarantees you a face to face encounter with Africa’s iconic Big 5 on one single safari. Lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo are all well sought after on any safari experience and this exciting tour will bring you right to their doorstep.

We’ve chosen two safari camps steeped not only in history, but also in their consistent big game viewing experiences – Sabi Sabi’s Selati Lodge and Mala Mala. The late dry season is the ultimate game viewing period within the region. Very little water exists outside of larger water bodies and we use this to our advantage as animals are drawn to the water that remains.

The Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta

The world’s largest inland delta and a World Heritage Site, the Okavango is one of the richest and most varied habitats in Africa and ranks as a top wildlife destination. The Okavango Delta consists of 15,000 square kilometers of water channels, lagoons and islands, forming an incredible wilderness sanctuary. Each year, floodwaters flow from Angola, over 1 000 km away, to create this incredible wetland habitat. Home to hundreds of species of animals and birds, the Delta offers the chance to spot creatures that are not often seen elsewhere, such as sitatunga, wild dog and wattled crane.

We would highly recommend that you take the opportunity to take to the skies for a scenic, doors of, helicopter flight to truly get an appreciate for the beauty and diversity that is the Okavango Delta.
